After using remastersys to create a backup of my system, during the boot process I can no longer just boot into my machine. It boots into what seems like a virtualization of the image I just created and I am given an option to install the "RELEASE" of that version. Is this something that is intended?

Really, I just need to know if there is a way to revert back to the way it was prior to making the backup.

Using the latest version of remastersys 3.0.0.1 with ubuntu 11.04.

That is your system and it is not virtual.  Once the ubiquity-frontend is installed it gives you that menu item.  The final 3.0.0 will not do that.  You can simply go into synaptic or whatever tool you use for package management and remove the ubiquity-frontend-gtk or ubiquity-frontend-kde package that is installed and it will be as it was before.

That's what I assumed after tinkering around. I was a bit worried because it changed my boot up for Ubuntu quite a bit. The boot screen looked like it was booting from a liveCD.
