I set up a Mint 10 install from the CD ISO downloaded from Mint.
I made a couple of changes just for testing - eg added extra compiz effects and installed remastersys and unetbootin.
Mint 10 uses grub2, so I followed the instructions and added the line to sources
When I added the source and clicked close, I got this message
The information about available software is out-of-date
To install software and updates from newly added or changed sources, you have to reload the information about available software.
You need a working internet connection to continue.
I clicked on close and went to Synaptic Package Manager.
I clicked on Reload.
Then I got an error message
What does this error mean?
How do I get around it please?
EDIT:
I went ahead and created the ISO and burnt it to a USB flash drive.
It booted into CUI.
I tried to get it into GUI by typing startx but that didn't work.
