From a root terminal, install a .deb file with dpkg -i *.deb

Like this:
Code:
dpkg -i skype-debian_4.0.0.8-1_i386.deb

Hi,

Normally double-clicking on any Debs you download should automatically launch the Gdebi Package Installer.
