Here is a small suggestion for improving AV Linux. Can Qsynth be configured with a soundfont by default? "TimGM6mb.sf2" is installed in /usr/share/sounds/sf2. Perhaps that could be used just so that Qsynth is not silent when first started. I spent an hour or so trying to figure this out a couple versions back. Roll-Eyes

Hi,

Good suggestion, I'll see about it in a future release, it won't make it into 5.0.3. I've also considered making an 'AV Linux Companion' DVD ISO image full of some of the popular free and open source sound libraries and hydrogen drumkits etc so folks would have all that stuff collected together in one place.

First post ever ! :-)

A companion DVD would be awsome. There are so many av-distros out there with all kinds of preinstalled software but most of the doesn' t even have an easy way to load their presets and banks. A noob doesn't know about /usr/local/share/xyz and will have a lot of trouble finding his way. The thing I've noticed about av-linux is that this dist is really nice with all the linuxDSP and loomer stuff preinstalled and you also get a good really easy way to find the rest of the tools you probably want and need. A companion dvd would be the sugar on top.

/First post

I have tried most other av-distros and finally settled with av-linux because of the stability and foc
