It seems that after i tried adding the reposatory it wont connect to it. I was told its down (by somone good with these things in #ubuntu on irc)
So i cant attempt this with latest remastersys.

Anyway my problem is that ive been working with a version (dont recall which but its not the latest) of remastersys and i liked its simplicity.
However it seems that after costumizing my ubuntu to my needs i did a install of the iso.
After its installed and i reboot the computer it stops after "Checking battery"  - Being a workstation it doesnt have any.
Anyway Im told its checking somthing with graphics card after the battery and thats where its stopping. What could be wrong ?

Im trying to install the iso on the same computer where i JUST installed a box version of the same Ubuntu so the drivers should at least not be diffrent.
At ONE point i managed to get a working ISO but couldnt replicate it after trying to costumize to the exact same state.

Are anyone else getting this error ?

I'm not sure how I can help when you've really told me nothing of importance.

If you want help, you have to tell me what version of remastersys you are using as well as what version of Ubuntu.

My repos are all up.  Who told you otherwise?

Sorry for the missing parts. I realize it must be hard without anything to go by.
As for the repo. Well here is what synaptic says. (I might have made some mistakes somewhere if the repo is up though.

Could not retrive http://www.remastersys.com/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/InRelease Unable to find expected entry 'main/source/Sources' in Release file (Wrong sources.list entry or malformed file)
Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I was in IRC chat in #ubuntu where some of the supports told me it should be down (I have him the address and he tested it)

Is there somwhere where i can just download the .deb file instead of having to go by the repo as it seems to not respond (at least not here)

EDIT: http://www.remastersys.com/ubuntu gives me not only access denied but also states that there is a error 404 so SOMTHING isnt up. Ive had two diffrent people in #ubuntu (both supporters) telling me the same... Or am i just missing somthing here ?

I have had the problem with the boot stopping at "Checking Battery State..."

This appears to be the last text message that comes out of the boot.  It means that your GUI did not launch for some reason.

In my case, the proprietary nVidia driver was not able to probe the nVidia card.  I found that if I booted in recovery mode and simply continued with a normal boot, the GUI would always come up.  Since this is an intermittent problem, it might be due to a timing problem and going through the recovery boot slows things down enough.

To see if this will work on your system, press and hold down the shift key when the BIOS splash appears, until you see the GRUB menu.  Pick the recovery mode boot.  Hit enter when the text menu appears.  If that fixes your problem, you could edit /etc/defaults/grub to default to menu choice 1 instead of 0.  And then run update-grub to put that choice in place.

I know this is a work around with any ugly boot.  But, it works for me.

Remove the Source entry in your repository listing as the repo does not have sources.

Sweet. Thanks.. May I suggest that you put that in the guide "the firefox method" to prevent anyone else getting that error ? Its just a humble suggestion.

Ok got a bit info.

Remastersys version 3.0.1-1
Ubuntu 11.10
Using gnome-fallback session costumized version

Problem persist that after a full install of ubuntu i remove the unity and other various things (mostly making it look more like ubuntu 9.10)
I install it with thirdparty programs and updates.
I make sure its fully updated.

I install likewise-open (i dont connect it to the domain though)

I have remastersys installed and creates a dist dvd. This takes up about 1 GB.

After burning the ISO to a dvd i reboot.
The computer then stops right after the Checking Battery status part.
Many people tell me its some graphic card issue that stops it. However i find it odd that its the same Ubuntu im running installed which works JUST FINE..
So either remastersys is doing somthing to the graphics drivers or somthing else is wrong.

What could it be ?

EDIT:
I tried running it in safe graphics mode. That also fails. Basicly it claims it cant find any screen.
So it stops at at CLI prompt.

Is Remastersys trying to use its own drivers or somthing ? cause why else would it fail to run graphics ? The very same drivers it SHOULD be using are the ones thats already installed on the computer running the same ubuntu which works just fine.

Live boot is completely different from the regular boot and it is completely controlled by ubuntu's casper scripts.

Since this issue is intermittent, it indicates it is probably not an issue with remastersys.  If your system comes up before the graphics has been probed and setup then you will get this.

Do you have proprietary drivers installed for the video?

What I need you to do when this happens is to try to get the vt1(CTRL-ALT-F1 or just ALT-F1) and take a look at the casper.log along with syslog.  If there is anything I can do within remastersys to help prevent this I would like to do so but I need to find out what is causing it.

I have this in the bottom part of my casper.log

Code:
dbus.exceptions.DbusExceotion: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.FileNotFound: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: no file or directory using CD-ROM mount point /cdrom

Could this be the thing we´re looking for ?
