Hi everyone!

I'm trying out the AV live on a Mac, I have a Macbook Pro.

My first problem is I could not use the normal version of Live, I have to use the secure mode. Maybe that info is useful with my questions.

When I'm in, the wireless doesn't work, it doesn't detect any wifi's, and if I try to put mine it says it doesn't exist. That's my first problem, because I want to use LiVES and it seems the machine needs to connect to the internet to configure or something. And well, it'll be so useful for searching some info about how it works since I haven't use it yet.

And the last problem I wanted to ask is that I can't access my HD, it says I don't have any permissions but I don't really know how to change that. I can use an external HD but I would like to be able to use every HD I want, specially mine!

And that's it. Thanks a lot in advance, any help will be really appreciated!!

Regards (and sorry for my english).

I have no experience running linux on a Mac, but google finds a lot of information about this, for example, this wiki from Ubuntu: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MactelSupportTeam/CommunityHelpPages.   Obviously, this is for Ubuntu, but most likely a lot of the information would apply to any linux flavor.  It appears there is some model-specific configuration required, so you will probably have learn alot about your system to set up drivers, etc.  Sorry, I cannot help more.

I'm not sure about hard drive permissions, that may be a Mac specific issue.  WiFi not working is very likely due to your wireless card needing a proprietary driver.  If you don't know the model of your wireless card, you can boot into AVLinux, open a terminal, and run
Code:
lspci
and you should find the wireless card info near the bottom of the list.  We may not be able to get wireless working from the Live environment, but we should be able to figure out what is going on.

Hi guys thanks a lot for your responses.

Finally I have installed Ubuntu in a Virtual Machine (VirtualBox) and then I installed LiVES (the software I needed) and everything seems to be ok.

Regards.
