Been using jack on avlinux 5.0.3. When I hit the stop button on qjackctl it says stopping but never comes back.

This after all jack apps have closed, so I don't think its waiting for something else.

Am I missing a setting?

Hi,

No it's a bug, it doesn't affect JACK with running applications but I need to look into it which I plan on doing soon. I missed it because I never use 'Stop' I always use 'Quit'.

Further info:

I noticed, thanks to being impatient  Embarrased , that if you click the stop button more than once it eventually does stop.

This may also be informative to Gmaq

A friend of mine had the same problem, no matter what he did it would not stop.
He did a complete reinstall of the OS and has not had the problem since.

Thanks,

I just had a look this morning and discovered the issue is the older deprecated 'freebob' libraries in AV Linux, I'll try to put up a fix or an updated package later today.

Hi,

These steps should fix the JACK crashing on Stop issue. Please read carefully.

1. Open the Synaptic Package Manager and completely remove these two packages:

libfreebob0, libfreebob0-dev

2. Open Accessories-->Root Terminal and Copy and paste these 2 commands to remove the freebob links from JACK.

Code:
rm -f /usr/lib/jack/jack_freebob.la

Code:
rm -f /usr/lib/jack/jack_freebob.so
