Hi everybody! I'm a new user of AVLinux and I really enjoy this great distribution. Last week I bought a M-Audio Keyrig 49, wich is connected to the pc trought a USB cable. I don't know how to use it... The system recognize it but I don't know if it's a configuration problem or it's a problem of mine.

this are my outputs

Code:
root@(none):/home/studio# lsusb
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 04cf:0022 Myson Century, Inc.
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 046d:c05a Logitech, Inc. Optical Mouse M90
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0763:019b Midiman KeyRig 49
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0718:0653 Imation Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Code:
root@(none):/proc/asound/K49# cat midi0
KeyRig 49

Input 0
  Rx bytes     : 0

I'm a little noob and I don't know how to play it in Ardour passing trought QSynth and QJackctl.... I hope i will be only a simple problem of configuration...

Hi,

I have an M-Audio 'keystation' which works great not a 'keyrig'. If you read page 38 in the AV Linux manual about making connections in JACK you will see an example of connecting to Qsynth. If your keyrig is supported then it should appear in the Connect dialog where the 'VMPK' is in the screenshot example.

For starters, install fluid-soundfont-gm from Synaptic, this is a great 'General Midi' sounfont.  It will install it to /usr/share/sounds/sf2/.

For higher quality sounds use linuxsampler/Qsampler to load gigastudio, SFZ or SF2 (soundfont) files.   You can find recommended sound files here:  http://www.remastersys.com/forums/index.php?topic=1740.0
