Hi guys, new here. Need help if you have some spare time. TIA.

I've started to mock around with remastersys yesterday to create an image of a custom Ubuntu 11.10 (it's a VM). I want minimal install so i removed unnecessary software, added 2 extra source files, and then proceeded to create a distribution copy. The created iso file is only 222MB (is that normal? my disk usage is at 4GB). When i tried to boot to the new iso, i get the following error:

(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed

I know this error can happen on a bad image, so i'm thinking that maybe something went wrong with the remastersys process (?!). Any thoughts?

Below are the logs. I can't see any problem aside from the 'No file/directory' error. If you can please help me figure out if i missed a step. I thought it's pretty straightforward. I already tried to read back on steps/how-tos, ran into similar questions, but couldn't find anything useful in my case.

Either you ran out of space on the hard drive or you killed the mksquashfs command.  My guess is that you ran out of space.

Thanks for the quick response. That's my initial thought. So i increased my hdd space to 20GB (not pre-allocated) and RAM to 1GB. Then I did the process again, but same results. Any recommended size? Ta!

My last try worked.  Yahoo Thanks for pointing out the disk space issue. I changed my hard disk into 20GB pre-allocated, and increased RAM to 2GB. So sorry, i'm not sure which one's the deal changer.

Now that i got that over with, i have other questions, but maybe for another post. Thanks heaps, @fragadelic! Cheers! Smile
