Just a short question: Is the optional pae kernel in 5.03 also low latency?? Or can I better stick to the standard kernel?

Hi,

Both Kernels are the same the only difference is the PAE option, otherwise they have the same configs and are governed by the same boot commands.

As GMaq said, the two kernels are identical except for the PAE config option (and the name, so we can tell them apart).  The only reason we ship the non-PAE kernel by default is because some older processors cannot boot a PAE-enabled kernel, and we try to make AVLinux work on as many systems as is reasonably possible.

Maybe a stupid question, but is it possible just so simple as install them from synaptic, or do I oversee something ?

That's correct, as of AVLinux 5.0.3 you can now install AVLinux kernels and headers using Synaptic.

Realy great!
I just burned an ISO, just in case…

Edit: It was as easy as installing en ad-on in iceweasel!
I was a bit worried about my nVidia-cart, mostly I and up with a resolution 800x600, but here it worked all at once!
Great Gmaq/Trulan!
