Hi, everybody.

I was trying to update wine and wineasio in 5.0.3 tube. I've tried compiling/installing and using deb packages
(wine 1.4/1.5) (wineasio 0.9).In any method I used, all goes well but the problem arises when i try to
register the wineasio object. It gives me "Failed to load DLL wineasio.dll" I can register it with "regsvr32 /usr/lib/wine/wineasio.dll.so" but then wine programs don't see it. They give me "WineASIO driver Status:not present"

Hi,

AV 5.0.3 already has the latest WineASIO to my knowledge (http://bandshed.net/custom/wineasio_0.9.0avlinux-1_i386.deb) so I'm not sure why you are changing that. Also there is an updated Wine 1.4+rt package here: http://bandshed.net/custom/wine_1.4+rtavlinux-1_i386.deb. On my development system the existing WineASIO package and this updated Wine work well together. I suggest removing and uninstalling what you've done and trying these packages.

OK. Thanks. I'll try that. When I installed 5.0.3 the versions I had were 1.3.24 for wine and 0.75.4 for wineasio-if I remember correctly. This is why I tried to update them.

All right. I can register wineasio.dll now but the applications still don't see it. I mean, you can choose wineasio as driver (it shows two wineasio drivers to choose from actually) but pick either of them it says "status:not present"

Hmmm,

Hi did you log out or reboot after making the package changes? Also do you have JACK running before loading the dll and launching the applications? What are the applications? I usually test with Reaper.

I did log out but I didn't have JACK running. Now it works! Thanks a lot! I use mainly Native Instruments stuff-Guitar Rig, Reaktor, Kontakt, Battery. Guitar rig and Reaktor work with minor problems but Kontakt and Battery have serious issues. I was hoping that by updating wine and wineasio I could make them work but now I see it is same as before. When you try to load samples, CPU goes to 100% and it freezes (the program, not the whole computer). This goes for both Kontakt and Battery.

Sorry to drag this up again, but I thought it is related.

I'm trying this same combo - jack is running, but I can't get reaper to see the asio driver at all.  Any thoughts?

Hi,

Sorry I can't reproduce your issue here, I start Qjackctl, then run WineASIO until the terminal indicates that the dll registered, then if I check in Reaper in the Audio setup dialog I get ASIO as an option and the WineASIO driver is listed.

I'm having alot of trouble with reaper here,s what i did
I uninstalled all the wine deb.
then installed the updated wine 1.4 avlinux from bandshed/custome
then installed the updated wineasio 1.9
uninstalled reaper and reinstalled reaper 4.22 using system default 1.4 avlinux.

when reaper starts I get a wine error window,   wine database fatal error
this is the output:

I've found that Reaper 4.22 does see wineasio, but does not see the inputs and outputs.  But still plays when wineasio is selected.  I read somewhere (may have been the Ubuntu forums) that the latest reaper does not play well with wineasio.  Today, I installed the latest Reaper 3 version and wineasio inputs and outputs show.  I think somewhere between 4.0 and 4.22, wineasio stopped functioning properly.

Hmmm,

If that's the case then Reaper users on Linux should be reporting this on the Reaper forums because Reaper breaking WineASIO support is beyond my control.
