My M-Audio Uno USB MIDI interface cord is not getting any signals.  I just confirmed it works in Windows though, so the cord in not the problem.  I re-installed the midisport-firmware, but to no avail.

Hi,

Have a look near the end of page 1 of this thread, there is an issue with mismatched udev rules in the midisport-firmware package included in AV Linux. Removing the midisport firmware rule as Root from etc/udev/rules.d/ will fix the midisport-firmware issue however whether that will solve your issue I can't say for sure.

Thread is here:

That worked!  Turns out to be a cinch.

All I did was rename the following file and rebooted:

/etc/udev/rules.d/42-midisport-firmware.rules

to

/etc/udev/rules.d/42-midisport-firmware.rules.old

While on the subject, does LMMS recognize M-Audio or any other external midi interface devices?  Rosegarden does, Tuxguitar does, but can't get LMMS to and couldn't find any answers by googling it.

Thanks.

It looks like you can only choose to do this for each individual track.  I was hoping you could do it globally so I could use the General MIDI bank of my external synth module for the entire project.

I actually do not use LMMS, so I'm not much help.  You might try posting to the LMMS forum: http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/lmms/
