For a education project in the context of my bachelor thesis (yes, I started studying additionally on my old days
), I'm working now on a translation of pieces of AVL 6.
I would go on with the work of grooveschmied, who traslated the 5.03 manual, and update it to 6.
Further pieces I'm focused on are the control panel and to switch the lxde surface and a few other applications, where german translations are already available, but not installed by default.
So any hints and experiences in this case would be appreciated.
One importent questions for me is: would it be ok for you if I call my Project-Version "AVLinux mediacation edition
" [AVLinux me
It's because I called the complete project mediacation
. The second part of the practicle section of my work, is a moodle course, where support for the use of AVL (in the case of my project) is bundled with the manuals, howtos, screencast etc. For that I've already reserved a domain with this name.
The main idea is to promote the use of open source software in the social work. Especially in the media pedagogy section. On one hand it's about "train the trainer" and on the other about making media-projects with kids and teens in schools and youth clubs. For me it's very importend to give them the live DVD for the use at home, so they can keep on going with their creative work outside the project environment. legal and for free! So they can use the communication tools in the moodle course to share their output and experience with the other kids in their course or help each other.
This is what I'm working on at the moment and the plan for the next days.
Sorry for my english, I hope everything was understandable
