Rui's just updated Qmidinet, with a fix for the jackmidi code. (yay)

Can i respectfully ask that this be considered for inclusion into AV 6.0?

Having a means to transmit/receive midi over a local interlink would be highly useful.

Thanks,

Alex.

Hi,

I'll try and get a package up later today for existing versions as well as in AV 6, good suggestion.

Hi,

Here it is. I don't personally do any network-based recording stuff so I'm not sure how to test it, want to give it a try? http://bandshed.net/custom/qmidinet_0.1.2avlinux-1_i386.deb

As soon as i've finished packing and have moved, i'll get on it. (It'll be a couple of weeks) Thanks for doing this.

Alex.

@GMaq: As far as I know, Qmidinet can also be used to interface to some control surfaces (e.g. Various SSL controllers such as the "Nucleus"

http://www.solidstatelogic.com/music/nucleus

whch transmit / receive their MIDI control codes using 'ipMIDI' over ethernet)

Qmidinet was used to interface this controller to Ardour during the development of support for the Nucleus in A3, although I believe Paul has now integrated the ipMIDI layer directly into A3 (interestingly, I think that makes A3 one of the few DAWs to support a controller such as the nucleus 'straight out of the box' without the need for other additional intermediary software / drivers..)
