Every day, when I take my lunch break, I go for a little walk in the city I live in.
Not far from my company there is a little graveyard, and I love to visite it. I found graves and monuments 500 years old and for me it is very inspring to think about things that were, that are and that might be.
At one of my visites I found the grave of Johann Pachelbel. He was born in 1653 and died 1706, he was a baroque child of my home city. (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Pachelbel). And as I am, he was a keyboarder. And as I did, he played the church organ (I did it in younger years, when my heart was still full of believe). So, I felt in a way ... connected to him.
Johann Pachelbel wrote the "Canon in D", its very well known.
I felt that I had to show my honour and took his score of the "Canon" and brought it into the third millenium.
The sequencers and synths are made with an AKAI Miniak, the drums are made by an Alesis SR18 (my very recent toys :-) )
The vocoder saying "Johann, thank you for the music, always will remember you" is from that Miniak as well.
Violins and church pipe organ, appreciating Johann's work and life, are made with an E-MU e64.
