I need this version tested prior to releasing it. It will require yad as well and yad is included in the downloads here.
Some notable changes from previously released version of remastersys for debian and this also applies to the squueze version that will be released simultaneously.
-Installer and regular gui has been ported to yad instead of zenity making it much better. -a log has been added to the installer that will collect information that will help me troubleshoot and fix issues -all progress bars will not have buttons to close or cancel now -If you have plymouth installed it will work on live by leaving the splash boot option. If you do not, the splash boot option will be removed -tools added to the remastersys-gui - change the menu background for the live boot, change the menu background for grub, copy your user settings to /etc/skel, create a simple plymouth theme and make it the default, clear out /etc/skel, view the remastersys.log -Live Installer icon will show up on the desktop of the live user now -the live installer menu item will not be removed as the installer is also capable of copying your real install over to another partition - this is handy if you bought a new hard drive and have too much to make a live iso. You will be able to copy your real system over to the other partition as if it were the live system -many further tweaks to the base remastersys code to produce a cleaner iso -added the ability to set squashfs options in the config file and gui -remastersys grub restore tool is included as well as the remastersys usb startup disk tool -added option to show install icon on the desktop -split off the gui to a separate package called remastersys-gui -made the squashfs build in 1 step now so it takes less time
Post feedback in this thread.
Updated deb package for remastersys. Check timestamp on the edit.
Added the correct amd64 yad package as I put 2 i386 ones there.

I just put in the option for showing the install icon on the live desktop. Check the first post in this thread.

Just uploaded a new version where the base package is now separate from the gui package.
remastersys is the base package and remastersys-gui is the gui.

Tested in Debian Squeeze, inside VirtualBox. Worked very well, but there is no option to "install live cd into Hard Disk" in System/Administration. I hope this is because it is just a "beta".

What window manager or desktop environment did you use?
Also make sure you installed the gui or you won't see it on the menu.

Another issue.
I still can't login to an installed LiveCD into HD if the "powerdev" group is the default group.
Sice i have noticed that powerdev is not build by default in Squeeze, you could consider to remove "powerdev" and add other group like "sudo", very usefull.

You can change those yourself in /etc/remastersys/remastersys-installer.conf which is why I have those there. If the issue is with login of the live itself, then that has nothing to do with remastersys as the user is only created with my settings after install.

Sorry, i did not installed the GUI. I will try right now.
Trying to install the GUI (with GDebi): 1 - Remastersys package installed well. 2 - Tried to install Remastersys GUI, but failed, it ask by Yad dependecy, so i installed Yad package you post above. 3 - Yad package installed well. 4 - Tried to install Remastersys GUI again, but failed again. It ask by "xresprobe" dependecy. Synaptic can't found xresprobe, so i can't installed Remastersys GUI. [EDIT] I am using amd64, and i got the right Yad files.

When did they remove xresprobe? That was needed by the live boot stuff to properly setup the gui in the past. That dep has been there since I released the squeeze version. Let me check it tonight.

Gaaaah! Well, i tried "dpkg -i" instead, and i got this too: Dependency problems: - gparted - read-edid - xresprobe No problem with "gparted" and "read-edid", since i can install it easy with "apt-get install". I will look for "xresprobe" package in debian repos.

If you can wait, I'll remove it this evening some time and you can get the new package.

The live default is US English. You'll have to change the system over to your locale and then alter the isolinux config to add the boot parameters for your locale as well.

I have noticed that 2.0.24-1 to Squeeze is the same as the 3.0.0 to Wheezy, i am right?

That is correct. Wheezy has a few things different but the wheezy version started out from the 2.0.24 package. I update the package for newer versions rather than rewriting everything since even though versions change, the live stuff gets changed but most of it stays the same.
