Hi rixtr66,

I happen to have 2 DELL machines with Intel Graphics and both run Compiz and use 3D flawlessly after doing the following:

Install the latest AV Linux Snapshot (20100201), this is important because it doesn't have any packages held that would affect or hinder upgrading Xorg.

After installing run System Tools SGFXI and follow the instructions, when you have logged in as root outside of X type 'sgfxi -c' the '-c' is critical.

SGFXI will update you to Xorg 7.5 and install the latest Intel Xorg driver with Composite Extensions, in my experience this "just works".

Hope this works for you.

RE: Rackarrack, If I'm not mistaken if you enable the Debian Sid repos in Synaptic Rackarrack is already there, if not I'll consider doing a package soon. Remember to disable the Sid Repos once Rackarrack is installed.
