Very good sir. Glad I tried to give it a shot. I won't worry about it then. I did do the other two though. Now I just gotta find time to actually do something with my system besides installing the system and apply updates. LOL

Hello everyone,

I heard from AV-Linux by a "neighbor"  of me in Germany - metasymbol. I had a few recordings with the "BEAT"-Edition. It´s a very useful out-of-the-box-feeling.
So I decided to take a recording of a very strange composition to try out AV-Linux4 (especially with guitarix):

It works very well. Thanks for this great distribution. Yahoo

Sorry for my bad english. As in "Dinner for one": Well, I´ll do my very best. Cool

autoandimat,

Great recording! You make the Linux Audio tools sound very good Wink thanks sharing for another great video (with your twisted sense of humor!). Question: What do you do the video editing with? Linux tools also? BTW your English is 1000X better than my German!

Thank you. Wink Unfortunately the sound-quality of the youtube-versions is not really good.
I like the sound-modulation with guitarix (on Strat with extremely high output single coils and also for bass guitar) and analog drums or analog drum samplers. With these things I can realize very dynamic stuff with AV Linux.

Shame on me. Embarrased For video-editing I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Earlyer Videos in my youtube channel were made with Mainactor on Jacklab (an opensuse-distribution founded by metasymbol) and Cinelerra on sidux.
But I was frustrated. The rendering in Mainactor has had a bad output quality and for me Cinelerra was difficult to handle and not very stable.
So I bought the Vegas Movie Studio. It´s not a proffessional tool but easy to handle an it works very stable. I´ve heard from kdenlive as an alternative but I never tried it out until today.

No shame needed,

I love Linux, it is better at some things...equal at many things...and yes...worse at some things, the best application to use is the one that works for you. I still rely on a few Windows applications in Wine. I've always heard good things about Sony Vegas.

You might want to try the Openshot Video Editor in AV Linux for fun, it uses the same MLT framework as Kdenlive, it is also quite stable, it is no Vegas yet but is is under very rapid and active development right now.

Thank you GMaq.
Sony Vegas is a very stable tool and easy to use. I will try out the Openshot Video Editor soon. I´m always interested in alternatives.
There are a lot of Linux users out there who have a very unfriendly reaction if you use other things than Linux or open-source in some case.
I love Linux and show the people what I do with it. But I´m not a fanatic. For me some things are better to handle with Windows-apps at the moment. So I totally agree with you. Wink

Let them have their unfriendly reactions! GMaq is right, use the tool that works for you. I have a trial of Sony Vegas installed on my XP machine right now and still trying to get my head wrapped around it. :-)

Rock And Roll Over, you´re right. Wink Vegas is a great software. I´m interested in alternatives but at the moment it works very well for the things I need.

Here is another nice video from a german friend who uses AV-Linux with guitarix. I think it rocks. Cool

autoandimat: I think you will find a different mindset here that supports people finding and using what works best for their needs.
I hate Microsith, but I still use Windows on some of my computers, while I use Linux on others.
Why? because There are some things I can do in Windows more easily than Linux.
I use Linux for about 90% of my computing needs, but sometimes it makes sense to do things with Windows based apps.
There's no shame is using the right tool for the job.
The only shame is on those that ridicule anyone else's choice of tools that works best for them to get what they need done in the easiest and/or most efficient manner possible. Smile

Linux is all about choice....
I agree with Rock And Roll Over that you should use what works best for you.
If you have time to tinker and like to try new things, then I recommend trying new stuff in your spare time.
Otherwise, use the tool that makes the best sense for you to be productive and get what you need to do done.... even if it's with Windows.  Cool
